Over 11 years as a former tough on crime prosecutor. She has tried over 75 jury trials, securing convictions for the most violent criminals. Maritza has also represented those accused with a crime.
In nine months as the Judge of the 482nd, Maritza has cut the backlog in half! She currently maintains one of the lowest dockets in the courthouse.

Meet Maritza Antu
Maritza Antu is the conservative candidate for Judge of the 482nd Criminal District Court. Maritza prides herself on being a bilingual, Texas native with a stellar record. She has vast experience in a variety of criminal cases and has proven to be consistent and tough on crime.
Maritza lives in Houston with her husband of twelve years, prosecutor Matthew Peneguy, their eight-year-old daughter Daniella and their two-year-old son Diego. They are parishioners at St. Anne Catholic Church in Houston.
She has proven she is the choice for a safer Harris county. Maritza is the only candidate backed by law enforcement.
Over 17 years of experience on both sides of the bar. Maritza had handled every type of felony as a lawyer that comes before her as a judge.
Passionate About People
Maritza cares about her clients, peers, and constituents. She has a history of working with low-risk and non-violent offenders struggling with substance abuse issues as well as working with young victims that were subject to sexual assault.

Maritza has worked her way up since joining the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in 2005. As a judge, prosecutor and in private practice, Maritza works tirelessly to ensure justice is done.
